These are the slides from the "Revisiting the Idea of Our Own Jabber Server" presentation at SBAY Pizza #160 on January 20, 2007:
This briefly describes the current situation with a growing number of Internet Relay Chat (IRC) rooms we use on FreeNode's chat service. While with no complaint about FreeNode, this shows some reasons why we should consider providing our own instant messaging service to the SIGs under our umbrella.
